School Dog Days

Well I must say, home schooling is really fun!  I've gone on wonderful field trip, and met a lot of amazing creatures --  squirrels, dogs, people. All fabulous.  And did I mention recess?  Why didn't anyone tell me about recess???  I would have begged to go to school years ago.

Moving On Up

Well, Mom and I have taken a delightful old apartment on Wilshire Blvd.  While it isn't exactly "in the sky,"it is on the second floor.  It has large rooms with lots of light and we even have a lovely garden outside our front door. Still settling in, of course, but I think we will be happy here.

I have been going to doggie day care for the past week, but asked Mom if I could try home schooling instead.  You see I liked the other dogs okay, but really I'm a people person.  So, now I am going to spend my days with Allison.  I'm sure she has a great deal to teach me, and being at home will give me more time to work on my poetry.

The Artist As A Young Dog

I have been getting in touch with my inner Bedlington, which has inspired me to create these poems. I hope you enjoy them.

There once was a puppy named Boodles

He loved only black Standard Poodles

He’d gaze at one sweetly

Then kiss its nose neatly

Before running away, yelling, “Toodles”

A December To Remember

Well, I must say December was indeed a lovely month. First, my dear friend, Steve, came to visit. Following our annual tradition, we stopped on the way home from the airport to buy our tree.

Then we scurried home to enjoy hot toddies and Christmas music. My dear neighbor, Raymond, came by to help us celebrate, and a lovely time was had by all. I must confess I got a little tipsy, and put on my elf outfit.
I should explain that the reason I have this costume is because I got a job as Santa's Little Helper at Urth Cafe over the holidays. I can't begin to tell you what a wonderful time I had! Hugging and kissing everyone who passed. I especially enjoyed the children and they all seemed to like me, too. As an added bonus, I now having an entry for my resume -- surely my elf impersonation will show any director that I have wide ranging acting abilities.

As if my December wasn't already overflowing with wonders, my dear friend, Helen, invited me over for a play date with Bella and Toby. She has a HUGE yard, and we ran up and down the stairs for hours. Do you know about stairs? I'd never actually seen a whole flight before, but after a couple of tries I got the hang of it. Just remember, if the step is as tall as you are, get all your feet on the first step before you try to climb up to the next one.
